One of my Favorite Restaurants in Asheville

I am lucky to be from Asheville, NC.  We have beautiful mountains, amazing changing seasons and some of the best places to eat.

Universal Joint happens to be one of my favorites.

Universal Joint in West Asheville

This place is a former gas station located in West Asheville.  There is outside seating as well as indoor but today was such a gorgeous day we sat outdoors. They offer an ever-changing draft list as well as daily specials. I have eaten almost every item on the menu and have loved it. I love the local ciders and spotted one I had not tried.  My favorite ciders come from Noble Cider which is also located in Asheville. The Spiced Merchant Cherry Cider was my choice today. It is probably my new favorite and similar to The Village Tart.

Menu options

Universal Joint’s menu is loaded with diversity.  We decided to do appetizers for lunch today. You must have their Spicy Egg Rolls with chicken, cream cheese grapes, jalapenos, and mango chutney. My husband went for that and I went for a new addition to their menu.  I think it was called Fiesta Avacoda.  The avocado was topped with tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, and cheese and grilled lightly. Salsa and chips on the side. I recommend the Firecracker Sliders, Hummus, and Pimiento Plate and all of their burgers.  I have never had anything I did not like.

Dolly Parton Mural

I spotted the mural while we were eating today. Artist Gus Cutty modeled after a vintage photo. It took him four days to complete. I am a huge Dolly fan so I had to have a photo.
