Self Tan Tips
I have found a self-tanner that I love. Being a teenager in the 70s meant there were just a few self-tanners to choose from and they were not pretty. We are so lucky to have some great options.
Prep your Skin
The first thing I do is the night before I want to apply the tanner I exfoliate my skin. The next day I apply a moisturizer that is not too oily to elbows, hands, knees and feet. I use this one as it was recommended by a dermatologist years ago and I have stuck with it.
Vanicream Moisturizing Cream Pump Jar
The self-tanner is going to include a mitt which is wonderful for application. You spray small amounts on the mitt and apply. Every so lightly over the elbows, hands, knees, and feet. You are going to need to bend those elbows and knees when applying. The thing you are going to love about this is it has color so you can see where you are applying. When you are pleased with the application wash your hands.
Hurry and Wait
I am going to say in around 6 hours you will see the golden tan. For that reason, I like to do it before bed. I shower in the morning and moisturize again. If you feel the color is too light do it again the next night. Same procedure as above.
First Time with a Tan
I am very pale and have freckles. For the first time in my life, I have a tan. I read some of the reviews where people use it on their face. I have not done that yet.
